JUST FOR YOU JUNE – Creating the habit of having a little ‘me’ time and reaping the rewards!
When we are stressed, tired, angry or fustrated we automatically breathe is quick and shallow fashion. This keeps us on alert and ready to pounce if required, thanks to our genetic coding and our need to protect ourselves.

Slowing down your breathing and focusing on the breath can help to reduce your heart rate and temper.
This is very much like meditation, but you don’t have to stress about the thoughts running through your head, you simply focus on counting and deep breathing.
On the in breath, take a slow deep breath and completely filling your lungs as right down into your belly, counting from 1 thru 6, and then slowly release the breath, so that you completely empty your lungs again counting from 6 thru 1.
Repeat this until you feel a level of calm return.
This can be used at any time, and is very beneficial to do at night before you go to sleep.
