JUST FOR YOU JUNE – Creating the habit of having a little ‘me’ time and reaping the rewards!
We are scared of the sun, worried about wrinkles and skin cancer, and rightly so, as the outdoor life is part of the fun of living in Australia and many are paying the price for hours spent in the sun, smothered in oil for that beautiful bronze glow.
The Winter blues is not just brought on by the cold, our bodies are rugged up, skin all covered to keep us warm, and instead of enjoying outdoor time, we would prefer to be inside snuggled up next to the heater.
This lack of sunlight, causes a reduction in the production of our happy hormone – seratonin. Seratonin helps with energy production and reduces the risk of anxiety attacks, no wonder we can feel so down in the cooler months.
A few rays of sunshine can brighten the day!
Apply sunscreen and try and have a little sunshine everyday. Not only will it help keep the blues away, sunlight helps our bodies produce Vitamin D, which aids in the absorption of calcium and phosphorous from the foods we eat. The benefit of this is a stronger immune system and stronger bones.
Grab a little glow, it is good for you!
