Lemon grass is one of my favourite pure essential oils. It has the most refreshing and uplifting fragrance that makes it an ideal candidate for helping overcome smells in the bathroom, toilet and even the kitchen.
Not only is Lemon grass delightfully fragranced, it is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and antiseptic. It helps to ease depression, supports the body to cope with stress and it revives the spirit. Bugs don’t like Lemon grass so it really is a good all-rounder oil to use in the home.
For bathrooms and toilets, get a pretty container, preferably with holes in it, or a small bowl will suffice. Place some dried leaves, flowers, small porous pebbles or shells into the container. Add 5 drops of Lemon grass essential oil and top this up once a week or so. As long as whatever you have in the bowl, allows the oil to be absorbed it will keep fragrancing for days. If the items you place in your container are smooth the oil will lose its strength very quickly.
For kitchens, get a small spray bottle (preferably glass) and fill with water, add 10 drops of Lemon grass oil and use this to spray around the kitchen after cooking to help disperse the odour quickly. You can also use this spray in smell shoes, or pongy bins = big bonus!
Hang a sachet in your clothes cupboard or drawers. It will help to keep bugs at bay.
Another wonderful way to use Lemon grass oil is in a foot bath. This powerful oil is absolutely fabulous for helping the body eliminate lactic acid. Tired feet and sore muscles will thank you. Simply fill a bucket or foot spa with warm water and add 3 drops of Lemon grass. Relax for 10 – 15 minutes and let this oil work it’s magic.
(Please ensure you only use pure essential oils and leave the cheapies in the discount stores on the shelf. They are synthetic and have no healing power).
Aromatherapy made easy, enjoy!

Sounds good!! So many benefits 🙂
Smells good too! 🙂
I love lemon grass. I need to get on to essential oils. I keep saying that but really, I want to x
Once you start you wont stop, it is a wonderful addiction! 🙂
Lemongrass is one of my faves, too x
I need to get more incense around the house. Burning oils is always such a good idea…especially when living with 3 (stinky) boys 🙂
Hi! Visiting from the Sits linkup. I noticed your post because I LOVE lemongrass! I also really need to clean my bathroom tomorrow, and this sounds like the perfect finishing touch. Thanks for the great idea!
