Easy Feng Shui For More Abundance

Improve Your Money Energy With Feng Shui

If you would like to see your abundance and prosperity grow in 2014, why not use a little Feng Shui to help you on your way.

Feng Shui is all about the energy of your home and how it affects those that live in it. Without getting tooooo technical about how it all works, with just a little general knowledge you can focus on the area of your home that is your ‘wealth’ sector and with these handy little tips, increase the good money vibes in your life.

easy feng shui

These simple tips are easy to follow and can have a profound influence on your wealth!

Always keep the toilet lid down – the toilet is basically a big drain, and leaving the lid up, leaves this big drain open, and signifies money continually draining away from you.

Fix dripping taps immediately – dripping taps are allowing ‘wealth’ to drip away so always have any plumbing issues fixed immediately.

Keep your oven and fridge clean – these large energy sources in your home must be kept as clean and fresh as possible. Leftovers and rotting food create negative energy and have a negative affect on your finances.

Keep your kitchen benches as clear as possible – especially if you have a knife block on your bench, hide it away in the cupboard, as these ‘cut’ into your financial wellbeing.

Now when it comes to your home and your money, the South East sector of your home is the one that needs nurturing and care. You can locate this area of your home by standing in the centre and us a compass (most smart phones have one) or use google maps to locate your property and it shows the direction of true North so you can work it out from there. You don’t need to get to concerned about the exact area, just keep in mind there are 8 sectors all up North, North East, North West, East, South, South East, South West and west. Your South East sector is one-eighth of your home.

The South East is governed by the element of wood. So all things made of wood, the colour green and lush plants will lift the energy. Avoid the colour red as much as possible as red represents fire and this ‘burns’ wood. Go easy on anything metallic as metal ‘chops’ wood. Both of these elements harm the wood energy. Items that are blue or black in colour represent water and of course wood needs water to thrive, so adding these elements improves the energy.

Place a bowl in the South East and keep all your spare change in it. Keep adding coins to this bowl as this represents ‘growing’ your wealth.

Try and keep this part of your home very clean and clutter free. Open a window or two and allow air to flow through everyday as this invites in fresh new energy.

If you would like to learn more about Feng Shui, my favourite Feng Shui author is Lillian Too. She has written so many books on the subject and explains things clearly using plenty of pictures. Buy one of her books or borrow one or 10 from the library. It is a facinating subject and incredibly powerful way to influence your good fortune.

Do you use Feng Shui principles in your home or have you never heard a thing about it?

  1. I haven’t used Feng Shui in my home but this was certainly eye opening and I found this post really interesting. I’ve downloaded the compass on my ipad and will be busy doing a few “updates” over the weekend!

  2. I have to say I am in agreement with this philosophy. I read a book on it around 15 years ago and altered my space accordingly. I then got a new job straight away. I remember other things came to pass too! It was most impressive. Naturally I put it all down to improving my home space!
Sadly my toilet lid is always up. With 6 kids in the house there will never be any other way! I am determined to keep the door shut on it at least!
Give it a try I say!
I recently bought a Jewish Hamsa to hang by my front door (a house blessing). It’s worded beautifully. (I have the Hebrew version but its translation is lovely). I have noticed much more happiness since it was hung!

  3. I now know why I am not rich – hubby constantly leaves the toilet seat up and so do my boys, so there are two drains there. My oven is not clean so will get onto that this weekend. We always have something dripping – our water pump at the moment. And my kitchen benches could do with a little work. Good feng shui advice! Great post 🙂 Cheers, Tanya

  4. I really enjoyed reading this. Thanks for sharing. I’ve always wanted to know a little more about Feng Shui. Gotta go, need to find out where the South East of my house is 🙂

  5. Pretty cool post about Feng Shui. Many of my close friends and family are into this. I like the one you said about leaving the toliet seat up! Thanks for sharing!

  6. Great Feng Shui tips but I think they’re great all round household/general well being things to do as well. Especially switching taps completely off! A dripping tap drives me crazy!

  7. Ok, this is really funny. I just got done reading the article and have inadvertantly done afew of these. The southwest room of my home is green. (walls and carpet) In the southwest corner I have a round wooden table and on the table I keep a bowl of water for my cats!!

  8. Hi, So am new to this and am working on fixing things..

I read in the Bagua that the top left most corner is for wealth and prosperity? You said South-East? I am just trying to understand, so please don’t get me wrong 🙂
I have the garage and the door leading into the laundry room in the south-east if I stand in my kitchen/dining (which is the middle) – how can I mak ethos conn changes etc? Laundry room tends to get cluttered 🙁

    1. When it comes to Feng Shui, there are many different ‘schools’ that practice in different ways. The one you are referring to uses a map that you place over your house, and that is where you are getting your wealth sector from. My two mentors that I follow for all things Feng Shui are Lillian Too and Marie Diamond, both use Feng Shui based on directions. So every house will be different depending on where the compass directions fit. You need to pick just one ‘school’ and follow that. No matter which one you pick, clutter is a no go. It blocks energy. If your laundry is in the South East, make sure you keep a plug in the tub at all times.

  9. This does explain a lot. We’ve had leaking/dripping taps for a while now. I should stop waiting and call a plumber myself!!!!

    1. Hi Susanne, Good idea, get them in quick smart, and also check that the South East corner of your home is free of clutter and does not have too much red in it. Add blue and black to represent water which nourishes this sector for financial growth. 🙂

  10. Just reading, very interesting! Hate clutter and I’m going to do more reading on the subject! Thanks

  11. I have a question. Which feng shui area of my home can I store my vacuum? The only place I can is a small front closet. My house faces west. Would that suck away my money putting it in there? What area would it be safe to store it in? Thank you!

  12. Read up on mountain of wealth at the front door- basically paint river rocks with a gold spray paint and pile them up like a mountain on the right side of door wen ur facing the door from outside, I feel a difference after doing this, hope it helps u too

  13. Hi. Great article. I hve just checked my south east corner has a red painting n it also has a washroom n also my iron table n laundry area is also that. So i m planing to shift the red painting now with a green one which has green n blue and black undertones. I m following lillian too’s book as well. I hope it works
