Just For You June – Day 19 – Get Your Gratitude On!

JUST FOR YOU JUNE – Creating the habit of having a little ‘me’ time and reaping the rewards!

When did you last spend a few quiet minutes focusing on all that is good in your life?

It is so easy to get caught in the grumble zone, as it really is quite addictive to blame the world for all your woes. Making time to think and feel good about your life, is a powerful way to make it even better, as a optimistic and enthusiastic approach to life will increase the production of the hormone oxytocin. This valuable hormone helps to reduce stress, lower blood pressure and boost immunity.

Before you go to bed tonight, spend 5 to 10 minutes focusing on every good thing that is happening right now. Even if things are tough, do you have a bed to sleep in, running water, food to eat, and clothes to wear. Do you have a pen to write with, internet access, family and friends to share time with, a pet, a garden, just anything that you would not like to live without is worthy of gratitude.

Simply releasing the grumbles feels good, and every minute you feel good, you attract more good in to your life to be thankful for. A gratitude journal where you spend a few minutes everyday jotting down things you are grateful for can be a wonderful tool to read back over when you are having a bad day.
